Scratching Post, a fairly popular 4-pieve band that all started off in 1992, in London, Ontario. With lead singer/guitarist Nicole Hughes in the lead, the band aquired Jeff on drums and Mark on guitar. The band picked up bass player Phil about a year later.

The band released a self titled EP in '95 and then followed up with "Flamethrower" their first full length album in '96. They released a video for "Master of Action" directed by Stephen Scott. The band toured madly for the next part of the year.

The band released "Destruction of the Universe" in the fall of '99. The album contained what could have been expected. Hard rockin' guitars, followed up with a solid bass and drums. Ofcourse Nicole added a little spice to the album with her vocals. The band's sound is hardcore, but at times it has a pop sound to it. Scratching Post played in the 1999 Toronto Street Festival, and it was a wild show for all in attendance. This helped Toronto recognize the talents in Scratching Post. The band later released a video for "Rock Past It", which contained some live footage from the festival. Also in the video was a start from "Degrassi Junior High", Whitesnake. The band has a solid reputation and they help maintain this by relentlessly touring. Their hard work has paid off in many ways and they now have some big shoes to fill. Fans all over are expecting something big from the band, and we can only hope that SP will stand and deliver.
